AIR ZERMATT CEO RECOGNIZED
The Divisionär F.K. Rünz Foundation’s Rünzi Prize was created in 1972, and awards 20,000 Swiss francs each year to someone who performed outstanding service for the canton of Valais. This year’s award went to accomplished helicopter pilot and CEO of Air Zermatt Gerold Biner. A former mechanic, Mr. Biner is now one of the most experienced aerial rescue pilots in the world. He’s completed some 4,600 rescue missions and has logged over 15,000 flight hours – a near record! He is also responsible for creating a helicopter rescue base in Nepal and training the pilots there.
