A new historical record
255,000 annual entries for Glacier 3000
Record-breaking results – Glacier 3000, a leading tourist attraction in the Vaud Alps, reports exceptional results for the 2024–2025 fiscal year: 255,000 visitors, an all-time record since the company was taken over by Gstaad 3000 AG in 2005. With a 27% increase in visitors and a 21% growth in revenue compared to the previous year, the company confirms the strength of its post-pandemic recovery. The reopening of the Botta Restaurant last November, after more than two years of renovation and an investment of CHF 30 million, marked a significant milestone, restoring a modern and varied culinary experience at the summit of the Scex Rouge — 3,000 meters above sea level.
Strong growth in both summer and winter
After a record winter with a 40% increase in visitors, the summer season also saw significant growth, surpassing the symbolic threshold of 100,000 entries. Pedestrians now represent 62% of visitors, confirming the central role of non-skiing activities and the relevance of the four-season tourism strategy.
“This record number of visitors demonstrates the lasting appeal of our resort, even among non-skiers. Our results confirm the strength of the four-season tourism model we have been developing for several years. Our ongoing investments in both excursion activities and ski slopes — such as the Red Run and the Black Wall, one of the steepest in the world — ensure a high-quality visitor experience,” says Bernhard Tschannen, CEO of Glacier 3000.
Commitment to sustainability
Glacier 3000 continues its efforts toward ecology and sustainable mobility. The company now supplements the electricity generated by the solar panels installed on the exteriors of the summit station at the Scex Rouge with Swiss hydropower. Thanks to their optimal high-altitude exposure, the solar panels generate around 100,000 kWh per year.
The resort also promotes the use of public transport to reach the site, which is open year-round. Since 2022, additional Glacier 3000 Express postal buses and a ski bus from Les Diablerets have made access easier, along with participation in the Magic Travel Weekends program. For the summer season, the joint offer with Mobilis and Transports publics du Chablais (TPC) — combining public transport and cable car access — has been renewed after its successful 2024 launch.
Perspectives
The ski season at Glacier 3000 will begin on November 8, 2025, after the annual technical maintenance closure. The integration of the Gstaad ski lifts into the Magic Pass brings an added benefit. Just 20 minutes from Gstaad, Glacier 3000 is ready to welcome Bernese passholders this winter. With Magic Pass holders already accounting for 27% of entries in 2024–2025, this new integration points to particularly promising prospects for the upcoming season.
