For the first time in the history of this prestigious international ranking, which distinguishes the greatest champagne houses every year, Louis Roederer has been voted ‘Most Admired Champagne Brand’ by Drinks International magazine for the sixth year running.

This exceptional distinction, awarded by an international jury of leading wine experts - sommeliers, wine merchants, importers, Masters of Wine, journalists and specialist authors - recognises the consistency and excellence of the House, its commitment to sustainable viticulture and its unique expertise handed down from generation to generation.

‘A rare feat that bears witness to an ongoing quest for excellence’.
For more than a decade, the Most Admired Champagne Brands ranking has recognised the Houses that combine consistency, innovation and respect for the terroir. Only a handful of Houses have managed to take first place for several years in a row.

Giles Fallowfield, specialist journalist and supervisor of the ranking, points out: ‘Reaching the top of this ranking is an achievement in itself. Staying there for six years in a row is another level of challenge, requiring constant vigilance, unfailing investment and a real capacity for innovation.

Commenting on the award, Frédéric Rouzaud, Chairman and CEO of Louis Roederer, said: ‘Receiving such a fine distinction once again is tremendous recognition of the work of all our teams. It pays tribute to our constant commitment to preserving the soul of our House, while striving every day to push back our limits, reinterpret our terroir and refine our know-how to offer great champagne wines of emotion and gustatory singularity. More than ever, we remain committed to our vision of sustainable viticulture, respectful of the environment and at the service of taste.

This commitment by Maison Roederer is embodied in particular in the House's great cuvées such as Cristal Rosé, which has just celebrated its 50ᵉ anniversary. Created in 1974 at the instigation of Jean-Claude Rouzaud, this exceptional cuvée has left its mark on the history of Louis Roederer by placing a rigorous selection of the best Champagne terroirs at the heart of its production.

In the article it devotes to its 2025 ranking, Drinks International takes a closer look at this anniversary and the memorable tasting it gave rise to, from La Tour d'Argent in Paris to the major international capitals, honouring the greatest vintages of Cristal Rosé and with them the extraordinary longevity of this iconic cuvée.
