The origins of Jott lie in the coastal city of Marseille. Led by two cousins, the brand is now present around the world, and continues to make a name for itself on the international market with its famous puffer jackets, as well as developing more generally in the world of ready-to-wear. A brand with a Mediterranean flair, which is gradually conquering the Swiss market. Portrait.
A family history
To understand the story of Jott, we need to look back at the history of the Gourdikian family. Indeed, entrepreneurship seems to run in their veins. From their home town of Marseille, two brothers set out to make a name for themselves in the wholesale market. Their company was a success, and their children gradually found their place in the company. But two of them, cousins Nicolas and Mathieu Gourdikian, decided to take things a step further and create their own ready-to-wear brand: Jott.
The idea was born during a trip to Japan. Inspired by brands like Uniqlo, offering practical, high-quality, affordable basics for everyday life. They decided to develop a garment that would become the foundation of their identity: the down jacket. A product that stood out not only for its value for money, but also for its original design: the padded jacket could be stored in a pouch. "The idea was to make this Jott puffer jacket versatile, suitable for city life, and to set it apart by its practicality. Once stored in its pouch, it can be carried everywhere very easily, finding its place in a handbag or suitcase, and slipping on as soon as the weather changes," explains Xavier Miane, Head of Development at Jott. The family story had just turned a new page, and the Marseille-based brand was born in 2010.
The puffer jacket: where it all began
Today, the puffer jacket remains the brand's flagship product. “It's where it all began,” insists Xavier Miane. Jackets that stand out for their value for money and their design. Indeed, Jott is not afraid to flaunt its Mediterranean identity, offering its jackets in a wide range of colors. In its boutiques around the world, these walls of pouches can be found everywhere, with the packaged down jackets forming a rainbow in the store. "With the puffer jacket, we wanted to create an iconic product. Our aim is for Jott to become the benchmark in this field. That when people ask which brand to turn to for their first puffer jacket, our creation immediately comes to mind," adds Xavier Miane who has been with the brand for 10 years.
Today, the gamble seems to have paid off, with Jott puffer jackets being worn all over the world, from Peru to China, via Switzerland, where there are currently points of sale in Geneva and Lausanne. This success is largely due to the quality-price ratio of products bearing the RDS label, which guarantees the proper treatment of geese in the production process used to stuff jackets. But its success is also rooted in the variety of its product range.In fact, the down jacket is now available in 150 versions, adapting to individual tastes through its colors, and to the needs of different seasons and weather with its multiple models.
A brand that never stops growing
Fifteen years after its creation, Jott continues to multiply its successes. Today, the brand boasts 1,000 points of sale worldwide, including 200 boutiques, and intends to continue its expansion. The puffer jacket remains the brand's flagship product, but in recent years it has been complemented by an extended ready-to-wear range. Its collections now include pants, T-shirts and sweaters for children, women and men, with many new projects in the pipeline.
The Summer 2025 collection
For summer 2025, the brand launches its first swimwear collection, still rooted in the Jott DNA: wardrobe essentials for every figure. With this new swimwear line, JOTT signs a colorful collection designed for every moment of the summer. Swimsuits, swim shorts and beachwear that are accessible, stylish and functional, designed to move, tan and dive without constraint. Among the ultra-desirable pieces: the one-size women's swimsuit. Made from ultra-comfortable stretch fabric, they fit naturally from 34 to 44, and are also available in children's sizes.
From beachwear to swimwear to streetwear, Jott unveils a collection that smells of the South and manages to combine fun with sophistication, once again demonstrating its versatility.
