Gold September
ALPINTE is committed to supporting the fight against childhood cancer with a golden collection
Following the success of its Pink October campaign in 2024, the Valais-based company ALPINTE continues its commitment to causes that concern us all. This year, the brand is partnering with the Gold September movement, an international childhood cancer awareness month, with an unprecedented solidarity action in Switzerland. Through a special golden collection, reflecting the hope and courage of children with cancer, ALPINTE aims to make the Swiss summits shine for a cause that remains not visible enough. For each glass or candle sold as part of this campaign, CHF 2will be equitably donated to two Swiss associations: Zoé4life in French-speaking Switzerland and KinderKrebshilfe Schweiz in German-speaking Switzerland.
At ALPINTE, social commitment is not limited to image: it is an integral part of the company's identity. The success of its latest solidarity campaign for Pink October 2024 enabled it to sell 2,100 pink glasses, as well as to support the Francine Delacrétaz Foundation in French-speaking Switzerland and Pink Ribbon Schweiz in German-speaking Switzerland, with nearly CHF 12,000 in donations and products offered for events and awareness-raising activities.
A major cause that remains undersupported
This year, ALPINTE sought to raise awareness of a cause that is still too low-key: childhood cancer. Indeed, research in pediatric oncology remains underfunded, and awareness limited. Despite the medical advances over the past fifty years, childhood cancer remains the leading cause of death from disease in children under the age of 15. Each year, some 400,000 cases are diagnosed worldwide, including 36,000 in Europe. Some forms of childhood cancer still have no curative treatment, highlighting the urgent need to invest more in research. About one in five children with cancer does not survive, and among those who survive, one in three adults will suffer from fertility problems as a result of treatment.
In Switzerland, about 350 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer each year, a significant proportion of which are infants and children under the age of four. Despite a cure rate of four out of five children, one child still dies every week from this disease in Switzerland, which remains the leading cause of pathology-related infant mortality. Treatments are lengthy, often spread over several months or even years, and require frequent hospital stays, on average one to four days per month. Finally, only three percent of cured children have no long-term aftereffects, which reminds us of the magnitude of the physical, emotional, and social impact of childhood cancer on young patients and their families.
A meaningful golden collection
To symbolize its commitment, ALPINTE unveils a unique collection of glasses, in the color of the awareness month: gold. The famous Swiss mountains represented on the glasses, namely Matterhorn, Jungfrau, Pilatus, and Moléson, are adorned with an exclusive gold metallization, highlighting the nobility of the cause and the elegance of the products. Each glass, made of handblown borosilicate and with a capacity of 2.5 dl, is presented in a box dedicated to this solidarity action.
The golden Matterhorn candle is another flagship creation featured in this solidarity campaign. With its spectacular design, it reveals the iconic golden Matterhorn as the wax melts, offering a visual experience that is both poetic and luminous. Made of 100% natural vegetable wax based on soy and coconut, this candle is one of the brand's recent innovations.
Swiss partners for a locally rooted initiative
This campaign is part of a strong commitment to supporting local initiatives. All donations will be completely given to two leading Swiss associations: Zoé4life, in French-speaking Switzerland, which has been supporting families, financing research, raising public awareness and working to improve the quality of life of sick children since 2013; and KinderKrebshilfe Schweiz, which has been actively offering emotional, logistical, and financial support, activities, and assistance to bereaved families in German-speaking Switzerland since 1987.
Swiss artist Corinne Weidmann is once again partnering with ALPINTE, offering exclusive illustrations for posters and coloring books for hospitalized children. In parallel, solidarity auctions, contests, and other initiatives will punctuate the month of September in order to raise awareness among a wide audience.
A commitment beyond the product
This new campaign is in line with the responsible approach ALPINTE has pursued since its inception. The brand is a principal partner of the Summit Foundation and actively supports the Clean-Up Tour, an initiative dedicated to the preservation of the Swiss Alps. It also collaborates with the FOVAHM workshops in Sion, which participate in the assembly and customization of products, thus integrating a strong social dimension at each stage of creation. True to its artisanal spirit, ALPINTE favors short supply chains and pays particular attention to quality and human touch.
Collection availability
The Golden September collection will be available in a limited edition from September 1, 2025 on alpinte.ch and at partner retailers. A great opportunity to offer a quality item while contributing to an essential cause!
