A record breaker
Zermatt Bergbahnen is scheduled to open a second ski lift serving the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise in autumn 2018. Fast and stable with it, the new facility will be the highest tri-cable lift in the world and will cover the journey between the departure and arrival stations on Trockener Steg (2,923m and 3,821m respectively) in just nine minutes. Costing a cool CHF52million, the new lift will increase transport capacity to 2,000 passengers an hour, thus reducing waiting times.
