DESIGN BY VERNER PANTON
Among the works of Verner Panton, one of Da-nemark's most mischievous and provocative talents, the FlowerPot lamp is a cultural icon that has captured the hearts and minds of an entire era. The FlowerPot lamp was first marketed in 1968 and became the symbol of the peace and love movement, led by a generation in search of open and progressive thinking. Added to this was a fascination with the future unleashed by the conquest of Space. All of this created a favourable environment for a visionary designer like Pnaton, who relentlessly sought to challenge the status quo.
Panton is fascinated by fluid shapes and a broad palette of colours, and designed this lamp as a source of light, but not only that. He pursued the idea of creating entire interiors with furniture saturated in psychedelic colours and highlighted by lamps with repetitive motifs as decorative details. From futuristic furniture fairs to showrooms, contemporary design museums, galleries and private collections, FlowerPots still embody a unique formula of beauty and simplicity.
