When mechanics are laid bare, fine watchmaking takes on an entirely new dimension. With its Perpetual Calendar Openworked, Audemars Piguet brings the art of openworking to a contemporary expression, revealing the sophisticated architecture of the new Calibre 7139 through a sapphire dial.

Housed in a 41-mm case, 18-carat white gold meets a black ceramic case middle, creating a contrast that is as graphic as it is elegant. The transparent subdials, subtly smoked around their edges, seem to float above the movement, while the moon phase, set against a black aventurine disc, lends the composition an almost celestial depth. The indications for the day, date, month, week and leap year unfold before the eye, creating a true mechanical ballet.

With 423 components, 41 jewels and a minimum guaranteed power reserve of 55 hours, the selfwinding Calibre 7139 concentrates remarkable complexity into just 4.1 mm of thickness.
