What’s on at Le Vernissage?
In Le Vernissage, Zermatt boasts a cinema like few others. A unique work of art, it was designed by the Zermatt-born architect and artist Heinz Julen. Sharing the bill with the usual blockbusters are two local films made in the 1950s by Julen’s father: Whymper’s Weg auf’s Matterhorn and Menschen am Matterhorn, screened on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm. A mountain guide and ski instructor, he learned the trade from none other than Walt Disney, a pupil of his.
