A digital hive
Digital innovation takes root on the city's doorstep
At the start of 2026, the Dutch group NorthC (one of Europe’s leading data centre service providers) moved in at The Hive campus on the outskirts of Geneva, not far from CERN. As the company’s (soon to be) sixth Swiss site, the data centre will span 5,400 m² and offer 4.5 MW of installed electrical capacity, delivered in phases through mid-2028. Designed to power AI and high-performance computing, it will run on 100% green electricity, without water cooling, and will help heat nearby buildings by redistributing its residual heat. Here’s to Geneva as the digital capital of French-speaking Switzerland!
