Sion, Le Levron, Crans-Montana, Les Diablerets… winter trails (trails blancs) have been all the rage recently – never mind frozen toes! The Tzoumaz Winter Trail, launched in 2020 by Trail de la Pierre à Voir (in Saxon) committee members, returns on January 29 with a new 17 km route through the snow and 882 m of altitude change. Think you can beat Bastien Quinodoz or Virginie Clivaz, the only two winners to date? You’d have to beat their times of 1 hour, 22 minutes and 1 hour, 42 minutes, respectively. The 2023 edition also includes a shorter route that’s 12 km, with 660 m in altitude change.
