The iconic delicacies of Café Sacher

From 1 October to 29 November, Café Sacher brings a taste of Vienna to the Bar of Beau-Rivage Genève, inviting lovers of fine pâtisserie to discover the world of this iconic Viennese café.

A taste of Vienna in the heart of Geneva
This autumn, the hotel’s Bar welcomes the world of Hotel Sacher Wien, offering a selection of pastries prepared according to the original recipes of the celebrated Viennese institution. From the unmistakable Original Sacher-Torte, crafted according to the original recipe, to the traditional Apfelstrudel served warm with a generous vanilla sauce, each creation pays homage to Vienna’s rich culinary traditions.

To fully immerse guests in this Viennese experience, a dedicated Afternoon Tea brings together a selection of savoury creations, fine pastries and the famous Original Sacher-Torte. Coffee lovers can also explore a menu inspired by the great Viennese classics, to be enjoyed throughout the day.

For those wishing to extend the experience at home, a selection of creations will also be available to take away. Meanwhile, regular guests of the Bar will continue to find its signature classics on the menu throughout the collaboration.

A dessert that made history
Created in Vienna in 1832 by Franz Sacher, the Original Sacher-Torte has become one of Austria’s most iconic pastry creations. Still handmade according to a meticulous process and a closely guarded recipe, it is said to have counted Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sisi, among its most devoted admirers and to have contributed to Hotel Sacher’s appointment as an official purveyor to the Austrian Imperial Court.

More than a dessert, it is a taste of history served on a plate. While its secret remains closely guarded, Beau-Rivage Genève invites guests this autumn to discover the unmistakable flavours of this Viennese speciality, traditionally served with a generous spoonful of unsweetened whipped cream.
