Strap on your snowshoes and prepare to soak in magnificent views of the Matterhorn! Accompanied by a ZERMATTERS mountain guide, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful experiences Zermatt’s Alpine world has to offer by snowshoeing from Trockener Steg (2,939 m) to Schwarzsee (2,552 m). The adventure is nothing too taxing: after an initial ascent past the Theodul Glacier lake, the rest of the 5-hour itinerary is mostly downhill, culminating just past the Maria zum Schnee chapel. Excursions can be booked for Wednesdays and Fridays, from mid-December to late April.
