What if the Tour de France started in Switzerland, for a change? Well, in 2026 it will! From 1-3 August, for the women’s race, to be exact. After a Lausanne-Lausanne loop on Swiss National Day for Stage 1, the second stage will run from Aigle to Geneva over 149 km, alternating between fast valley sections and tough climbs (10.4% at Bougy-Villars), and a final sprint along Quai du Mont-Blanc in the shadow of the Jet d’Eau. For the third stage, the riders head towards the French Jura (Poligny) for a 157-km sprint that spotlights mountainous terrain, starting off with the Col de la Faucille mountain pass!
