The Pichiour secret
A refreshing escape in a secluded mountain valley
Just a stone’s throw from the glamour of Crans-Montana, the Pichiour Waterfall demands you make an effort. Setting out from Aminona, you descend into the wild Raspille River valley. Follow a steep forest path (1,150-1,700 m in altitude) and skirt past ravines — all while surrendering to the sound of water growing increasingly intense. The reward is precious: in the end, the path slips behind the falls, offering an unusual perspective of the curtain of water just where it clears a short rocky ledge. Below, the water has — over the years — carved out a succession of plunge pools. The Pichiour is a perfectly refreshing summer hiking destination, around 3 hours roundtrip.
