Located on Rue de Lyon, near Parc des Franchises, the restaurant Refettorio Geneva is on a mission to provide contemporary, high-end daily meals to those in need. Think it’s impossible? Well, the ultra-dynamic Walter El Nagar, aka “The Mad Chef,” who had a 15/20 with Gault&Millau at his previous establishment, makes it possible by charging an average price (36 francs) for lunch on weekdays (omnivore and vegetarian options available), in order to offer 400 free evening meals in partnership with other local non-profit organizations. This zero-waste food model in a fine dining atmosphere is a bit like a soup kitchen… but version 2.0! Donations and volunteers are always welcome.
